Our Story

Welcome to our story! Here you’ll learn how Art of Beauty grew from a small salon in Cleveland to an international business. Through constant innovation and a commitment to using only toxin-free, natural ingredients, our award-winning products are now used by top salons around the world.

Art of Beauty Background

Art of Beauty was founded in 1986 by Zoya and Michael Reyzis, a married couple of immigrant refugees who left the former USSR in 1979. They were in pursuit of the American Dream, applying their education in Odessa and Kiev to their shared innovative spirit. What began as a small nail salon in Cleveland, OH became a spa focusing on natural nails, skin care and European herbal treatments.  Today, the company is a manufacturer of award-winning products for the most professional salons and spas around the world. Their respected brands include Zoya, Qtica, Smart Spa, Zoom and Naked Manicure.

Zoya, originally a classical pianist in Russia, earned her Cosmetology license the same year she came to the United States. While pianist jobs were limited, cosmetology offered her the means to start a new career. Through Zoya’s hard work and demand for quality, healthy, and natural ingredients for her clients, she saw a need for the perfect products. In response to Zoya’s requests, Michael, an advanced chemist, developed and patented unique products like anti-wrinkle treatments and shampoo and conditioning treatments for the salon & spa. He also created the first working, fast-drying topcoat and the longest-wearing, toxin-free natural nail polish, revolutionizing the nail industry.

Today, Art of Beauty continues to make waves in the industry with their high-quality products for clients. Through their various brands, Art of Beauty offers superior quality, convenience and an incredible value. As the first to remove toxic ingredients like toluene, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin and DBP (dibutyl phthalate) from its products, the brand maintains its focus on the health and well-being of salons, spas and consumers.
