Who says you have to go to a salon to get a professional pedicure? At-home pedicures can be just what you need to relax, and with the right products, it’s simple! We’re giving you a basic guide to achieve a professional pedicure from home using your favorite ZOYA Nail Polish! So, light a candle, put on your favorite relaxing playlist, and prepare to be pampered!
Start with a Soak
There’s nothing quite like a relaxing soak after being on your feet all day. After you’ve removed the polish on your toes with ZOYA Remove +, you can soak the feet to soften the skin. Fill a large bowl or even your bathtub with warm water (Remember to clean out the bowl/tub first!). Pour a pedicure soak or a mild soap into the water. If you’re looking for a salon-quality soak, we recommend the Fresh Soak by QTICA Smart Spa (17 scents available). Allow the feet to soak for 10-15 minutes.
Exfoliate
If you have a favorite scrub, you can use it to gently exfoliate the skin before taking a pumice stone and scrubbing at any dry skin or calluses you find. Try the QTICA Smart Spa Sugar Scrub, which dissolves naturally in water and won’t clog your drain. When you’re finished, pat your feet dry with a towel.
Trim and File
Next, use nail clippers to trim your toenails and file them down to smooth out any rough edges.
Once your nails are shaped how you like them, apply a cuticle treatment to soften the skin around your nail plate. QTICA Solid Gold is perfect for this step. Using an orangewood stick, carefully push back your cuticles. Trimming your cuticles isn’t necessary, as cuticles help to prevent infection. Instead, use a cuticle remover to safely get rid of the dry skin.
If you feel that your nails need a strengthening treatment, you can use the Rescue + Repair System under your polish. Begin by using a pea-sized amount of the Rescue Serum and divide it between all 10 toenails. Massage the serum into your nails using varying motions until dry. Next, use the Repair Base to seal in the treatment and prep your nails for polish.
If you don’t think your nails need a treatment, you can skip the Rescue + Repair system and simply apply a layer of your favorite base coat. We recommend Naked Manicure Naked Base.
Polish
Once you’ve allowed time for your base coat to dry, you can start painting! With your favorite ZOYA color, paint your nails as normal, waiting 2 minutes between each coat of polish. Clean up any polish on the skin with ZOYA Remove + on a brush.
Top Coat
Wait until your polish is dry to touch before applying a top coat. If you want a lasting, shiny pedicure, we recommend using Ultra Glossy Seal. This top coat in particular also happens to be fast-drying!
